Review by hotel critic
The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the lively district, making it easy to explore the city on foot. the room, though cozy, felt a bit outdated, with a blend of charming retro decor and some elements that bordered on bland. Despite the room feeling a bit old, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi were much appreciated. One highlight was Brian's Restaurant Bar & Grill, a delightful blend of history and modernity, offering a variety of comfort food options. We enjoyed a delicious meal there, soaking in the ambiance of the lobby-level restaurant with its open kitchen and antique bar. While the hotel had its quirks, like narrow bathrooms and a mix of old and really-old decor, our overall experience was pleasant. It provided a budget-friendly option for exploring San Diego, even if it lacked the polish of more upscale accommodations. Ultimately, Palihotel San Diego offered a decent stay in a prime location, perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the city's vibrant nightlife.
